Color Rush

Beat the Stroop effect

The word GREEN flashes on screen, printed in orange ink. Does the meaning match the color? Your brain reads the word before it registers the ink, and that split-second argument with yourself is the Stroop effect. Psychologists have used it to study attention since the 1930s. Here it runs at full speed.

You get sixty seconds and two buttons. The pace climbs while you play, and by the final stretch the words arrive faster than your inner reader can object. High scores belong to people who learn to shut that reader up.
